  I headed back into Mark's new place for teaching yoga and had a pleasant experience with a teacher named Ann. I had trained with Mark years prior when traveling from Arizona up to Santa Cruz, and this time I was coming down from WA state. I wasn't expecting a different teacher than Mark and a near one on one class, but I learned some good new things for my yoga teaching practice and I appreciated the individualized attention. I have a minor hearing impairment so I found myself struggling to catch the poses if Ann was behind me or talking just with sanskrit names of poses (which I don't teach anymore, just the english names). I noticed the guy beside me didn't need the sanskrit names either, we were both just into the poses and the alignment. I had to look behind me more which took me out of the flow, but most of the teaching was more of a breakdown of poses so it worked out fine. The new teaching space is quaint and simple and less than the previous yoga space but it has all of the necessary props needed and works well for a medium to large size class. I just missed some of the synergy that happens in Mark's vinyasa classes but I wasn't able to stay for his Tuesday night class as I was passing through from WA state through the area for only a few days. I thought Ann's class was great but small for such a big room. It was two hours of travel from San Jose (down and back) for the commitment. One thing I might recommend is putting the teacher for the class on the teaching schedule. I was okay with how this turned out, but it might be helpful to know when teachers are teaching for someone like me who is traveling especially for the class. Otherwise, congrats on the new space and good wishes!
